Tim Noble and Sue Webster(Noble) were born respectively, 1966 in Stroud, UK and 1967 in Leicester, UK.  They met while studying at Trent Polytechnic (1986 – 1989) in Nottingham.  Following their graduation in 1989, they did a two year residency in Treadwell`s Art Mill in Bradford.  It was  during this period that they started referring to themselves as The Art Junkies, making much of their art from junk.  Tim is the son of the late Dave Noble, inspirational sculpture tutor at Cheltenham College of Art.  Tim did a later Masters degree at the Royal College of Art, which gave Sue the opportunity to unofficially use the Royal College`s exceptional facilities.  During their two year sojourn at Treadwells, it was quite clear that Tim and Sue were highly talented, dedicated, as well as being excellent self-promoters, and fully deserving of their extraordinary international success.  Nick recalls his fascination in  the range and amount of work they consistently produced during their residency. The highpoint of their two years at the Art Mill, was their 1990 exhibition, when they impressively recreated  Hell in 300 square metres of the Mill`s top floor.  A constant worry for nick was Tim and Sue`s ruthless manner of foraging for materials, and his anxiety over which piece of vital Art Mill equipment would end up in one of their sculptures…
