Malcolm is currently working on the opening of a permanent exhibition of his own work in a former Garden Centre, close by the Treadwell Gallery, here in the Austrian Mühlviertel. Since the seventies, Malcolm Poynter has been and influential and inspirational presence in the British art world. During the early part of his career, he earned money as a visiting sculpture lecturer, often called in by Art schools to give stimulating impetus to lethargic sculpture students with one of his charismatic and inspiring tirades. The effects of his influence can still be seen in the work of quite a number of younger British sculptors.
